I was recently asked to draw a pic of the Batman for a Dark Knight Fanatic (or as her mother says, "Lunatic is more like it!") for her upcoming Birthday. Hope she likes it.

Wowio... change in terms
I have had my books, Tales from the Cornerstone Prologue through Chapter Nine, available at Wowio for a little over a year and a half now and they recently changed their terms and presentation. Some for the better, some not so good, at least for me but I am rolling with it.
All 10 books will still be listed at Wowio but only the Prolgue will be completley free to view on-line. The other nine books can be previewed, six to seven pages each, but if you want to read the rest of the chapter you have to download it for the low low price of .99 each.
For the longest time, Wowio had made revenue from ads appearing on the comics and shared that revenue with the creators based on page views. In simple terms, I could sit back, let people read the book for free and still make the dollars (more like pennies but that's beside the point). Now, Wowio has completley removed the ads on the books and removed the "per page view" revenue stream. To counter that, the "per download" revenue was increased.
This might not be too bad for someone who gets lots of downloads, but my product was best if given away... but not any longer. This has made me re-think how I will market and put my books out there in the future and overall, this will be a good thing. But in the mean time, if you want to see the books in whole... it's gonna cost you a little money. If you like what you see and would like a "hard copy"... that's coming again soon... working on ideas now to make my books that much better...especially to hold in your hot little hands.
More updates as soon as I can... Cornerstone is not dead... just sleeping.

Harold Jennett is a (Jedi) Master!!
Harold Jennett, one half of the AMAZING duo that created, wrote and illustrated the wonderful world of M.I.M.E.S., has been doing a weekly web-strip for the guys over at Geek Syndicate.
He just completed this image, one that I HOPE to see on t-shirts and prints (hint, hint) for the Comic Geek Speak Super Show '10 and I LOVE IT!!
Check out the web-strip here. Follow the Geeks Syndicate here.
Thanks for sharing, Harold.

Thalestris of Thessaly, Queen of the Amazons
A friend of mine, from Comic Geek Speak forums and the Waiting for the Trade Podcast, Dave Williams, was putting together a new comic with artist Paul McCall called League of Analogues and asked if I could do a pin-up for the first issue... love to... and here she is... Thalestris of Thessaly, Queen of the Amazons.
Check out more about the comic on the forums here.
And here's a little intro to the idea behind the comic...
"League of Analogues - "The only thing more dangerous than crossing dimensions is crossing them"
Analogues...comic fans know them well, a heroic parallel pulsating with possible parody. An opportunity for writers to cast well-known character-types into moral and ethical dilemmas, to push the boundaries of storytelling to their limit!
But what happens when these fictional characters become aware that someone's forcing them to endure these hardships and that their torment is entertainment for an inter-dimensional audience?
For over five centuries Thalestris of Thessaly, Queen of the Amazons, has been locked in a struggle with King Minos of Crete. During their final confrontation the forces unleashed split the barriers between the worlds of literature and reality and begin an adventure across dimensions the likes of which has never been seen before!
Brought to you by the keyboard of Dave Williams and the pencil, pen and PC of Paul McCall."

PKD Media... signed and numbered print
This is the final for the print... the original, which will be raffled off at the Super Show, is 14x17 and looks pretty cool.
The prints will be 11x13.5, printed in BW on cardstock paper and sold ONLY at the Comic Geek Speak Super Show '10.
We are not sure how many there will be (atleast 25 and maybe as many as 50) nor do we know for how much (I'd like to keep it cheap, like $1 each, so that everyone can participate) but I am working on a plan for the show and I share as soon as Shawn and I work out the details.
enjoy
-Drew
PS... we are also talking about doing a limited edition print (or two) for the Heroes Con in June... what do you think of... "Girls of PKD Media" or "Bring on the Bad Guys"... prints featuring the girls and a print focusing on the Bad guys... just an idea. Plus, with both of those print ideas... the originals will also be raffled off... I don't keep ANYTHING... he he, just kidding

something cool... part 2
This was my idea for a print that Shawn Prior and I will be offering at the CGS Super Show '10.
We will have a limited number of prints available (all signed by the creative team... Shawn and me) and numbered and made available ONLY at the Super Show.
We will be doing a fun promotion and someone will walk away with the original art for the print, in all it's 17x14 goodness. More soon...

CONVENTION CALENDAR 2010
Hey everyone, just wanted to update anyone who cared on a few CONFIRMED appearances for 2010...
First up is the Mega Convention in Orlando FL, March 12-14. Once again, I will be sharing a table with the indisputable greatest guy I know.... Wayne Cordova (co-creator and writer of M.I.M.E.S.) last year, we had a ball and this year should be even Better! Hope to see a lot of people there. We will be at table GREEN-3.
Then at the end of March, the Comic Geek Speak Super Show 2010 in Reading, PA, March 27-28 . I will be sharing tables with Shawn Pryor and Chad Cicconi and other guys from PKD Media. In 2008, we had a blast and this year should be no different... only better. I've sponsored a table for my good friend Harold Jennett (co-creator and artist extraordinaire of M.I.M.E.S.) who will also be there. Check out some of the other great artists at the 100% Super Show Approved site (thanks to the incomparable Dave Dwonch (of SpaceTimeCondo fame... who also gives good man hugs (don't ask how I know this... it's just sad)). I am currently taking commission requests on the CGS forums for this show... if you are interested, check it out here. Come down (or UP, or across... whatever... and see us all at the show).
Last, but hopefully not the VERY last... Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC June 4-6. I will be sharing a booth with Shawn, Chad and PKD Media. We have not been updated on their site yet but I have confirmed that they took our money... he he. That's half of it. i will be taking requests for this show on the CGS forums sometime after the Super Show, probably the first of April. I will keep everyone posted here.
Anyway... I am looking into Pittsburgh, Philly and Baltimore but have nothing confirmed there... yet. Also, I will definitely be in NY for the New York Comic Con but I won't know if i can get a table yet... some time in April I will know for sure.
Thanks again and I hope to see as many people at these shows as I can

Moon Knight
Ok, I have a "thing" about this character...
I always draw him with "bloody or dirty" hands/fists.
I'm not sure exactly why but I think it has to do with the white/silver... pure look of his costume... so the fists are a contradiction to the rest of the costume...
I guess
