FX Con Protraits

I'm planning on doing a bunch of 6x9 sketches for the FX Con show April 17-19. Here a few examples of the "portraits". The Robin was actually from Mega Con and the Batman and the Joker are already spoken for but the rest will be available at the show.

My plan is to keep these simple and affordable. $5-$10 each. These that I am doing before the show will be $5.00 and I plan to have several more... so keep checking back.

Blacks Danger in Space

I had the Extreme pleasure of helping Shawn Prior with a six page story for PKD Media Presents #1. He had a problem with the deadlines and asked if I could step in and do the first chapter of Blacks Danger in Space. It was a blast and I'm gonna post the first 3 pages here, sans word balloons. One more other site to push... M.I.M.E.S. by my friends Wayne Cordova and Harold Jennett. The stories are fun and funny and the art is wonderful. Harold has created a style for the comic that is fresh, clean and playful (awwww) and the stories have many hidden jems (like the artist named Le' Jennett... classic). i will be sharing a table at Mega Con with Wayne so if you're around Orlando February 27- March 1... come by our table in Green Section #18 and pick up a copy of M.I.M.E.S. #1. I have a pin up in the issue (so I've been told... never actually seen it because they sold out of issue #1 at the Super Show). Rorschach

This was my second attempt at Rorschach from Watchmen. The first attempt was a gift I did for Todd's roommate Ben. I did this one on 9x12 Bristol and will take it with me to Orlando as an example of my 9x12 sketches.

Boo hoo... no scanner

Well, I did a few more drawings but since my scanner is not Vista compatible and my son killed his computer and my daughter (and dog) destroyed the power cord to my wife's computer... I can't scan anything. Boo hoo. Ah, well. We'll get a new power cord in a few days and then I can use my wife's laptop. Till then... just keeping on drawing.

Made it back... in one piece

New York is a wonderful place to visit... but I'm glad I'm back in the good old FL. Now I have to work on Mega Con in just three short weeks. I did a bunch of sketches in New York and had a blast. I picked up tons of trades and art books at great prices... I'll make a list later. For now, I'm heading to bed after dinner.. I'm exhausted.

I have arrived...

Well, I got here right on time AND got my bags without any delay... YEAH! and Todd was waiting, with a car, and everything, except the cold, was perfect. Great first day in NY. I also ran in to Rich waiting in line to pick up our passes. I was thinking to myself... I really need to call Rich and then he turned around right in front of me. Crazy. I was also glad to hear my daughter's audition went well, she and my wife ran into a few teachers that my wife had back in high school and at least one of them remembered me. She saw my daughter's last name and said "come over here, let me see if you look like your dad..." Thankful for her, she doesn't. Anyway, we are heading out to the Con right after we get some food. More later...

New York, NY

Well, it's a little past 1am and I can't sleep. My flight leaves Jacksonville at 7:15 and the alarm clock is set for 4:45am and I'm up posting on my blog. I forgot to call Todd last night to "remind" him that I was coming into town tomorrow... I hope he does not forget. it could make for a very, very long day. This will be the third time I have flown into NY City and I bet my luggage will be lost. The first time I went to NY they lost my bag and it turned up around 2am the next day. The second time i flew to NY my bag arrived BEFORE me and while I waited at the baggage claim, nothing came out. Turned out it had arrived earlier on a different flight and was waiting in the misc bag claim area (an area I am now fully aware of). I'd be surprised if my bags DIDn't get lost. Anyway, I'm going to try to go back to bed now, get a few extra hours sleep. Hope to see everyone in NY, it's gonna be a blast.
