One quick sketch before I go back to sleep... Mad Hatter

Ok, woke up early this morning and wanted... no, needed to draw. This is another one for Lee, the Batfan... the Mad Hatter.

I've kind of got a theme idea going for all the villains he requested... coming up... Man Bat, Rah's, Ventriloquist, Penguin, Clayface and more...

I like the Mad Hatter. He's one of my favorite looking Batman villains.

FX Con... a great show if NOT an economical one...

Just got back into town from Orlando, for the third time this weekend. Had a great time hanging' with Avery and Wayne and meeting many new friends and got some cool new art (and drew a few cool pieces, if I say so myself...) and I will post more about all that this week.

Small Cons are good if you don't have a lot invested going into them and we are already planning a few more... stay tuned for more details.

A big thanks to everyone who came by the tables and said hello, bought some art or a sketchbook or even a few 25 cent comics... You all are the BEST. Thanks to James and John, you guys really made our weekend.

Ok, now I'm going to bed... got to get to work early tomorrow and I am soooo tired.

Tales From The Cornerstone Chapters 0-9

Finally... All 10 chapters of my comic series Tales From The Cornerstone are available for FREE on Wowio.com.

Check out the links bellow to view or buy pdf copies of the Prologue and Chapters 1-9.

I am hard at work (yeah, right) on Chapter 10, the first chapter of Volume Three. Volume Three will include Chapters 10-15 plus 3 Epilogues and should come in at over 200 pages when finally finished. My new deadline for Volume Three is the 2nd CGS Super Show in March 2010. Check back here often and follow the progress of Tales From The Cornerstone.

thanks

-Drew

PS... I forgot to mention and I hope no one gets too mad at me but Chapter 9 ends in a cliff hanger... soooo don't be made if it takes me a while to get back to it but trust me when I say I know what happens next and I'm working on it.

1939 Batman

Lee, the Batfan, contacted me recently to do about 20 different Batman and batman related characters... this was the first, Batman based on the 1939 Bob Kane original.

This one was a lot of fun (I actually did the drawing twice because I did not like the way the background came out on the first one but Batman looked cool). I used a white prisma color pencil to add the white highlights in the cape and cowl (thank you Avery) and it looks cool.

Next up... 1950's Dick Sprang Batman

the face of.... Evil

I got this picture from my mother a few months back. It's of me sometime around October 1977. We were living in Italy and, as my mother tells the story, my little sister was born just a few days before this picture was taken.

Go figure.
