Sketch 003 of 100... DOMINO

Sketch 003 of 100 Sketches... Domino!

Also, a sketch for Illustrious Bits Week 30... Any character created by Rob Liefeld.  Domino was a hands down favorite and I just HAD to take a crack at her.

This one is NOT set aside for anyone so it should be available at the New York Comic Con 2012 in October.

More coming soon, enjoy

June 25, 2012... This doesn't count as sketch #1...

This is actually my first full attempt at using Manga Studio Ex... The first page of my new Cornerstone OGN (Original Graphic Novel).

I added tones to the picture but didn't like how they came out so I think I will leave this B&W.

I actually have 5 drawings on my table right now that count toward the 100 in 101 days... and I will post them all as soon as they are done.

NY Comic Con... 100 Sketches in 101 Days

ok, so the NY Comic Con is in 109 days and counting and in preparation, I am starting a new sketching initiative.

100 Sketches in 101 Days.

That's right... I will be sketching 100 sketches in 101 days, beginning tomorrow.  My family and I will be going to see Brave in theater tomorrow and I was planning on starting with a sketch of Merida for the initiative.

Last year at the show, I sold a lot of pre-drawn sketches and this year I plan to have more... Make my art work harder for me, not me work hard for my art.

I will start off by working on commissions that I have been very, very lax on getting done, some as old as 2009, yikes!  They will come first but once they are done I will open it up to suggestions or commissions but everything will be at my whim.  If you see something you like... let me know and if you are going to the con I can put the sketch aside for you.

Prices will vary from as little as $5 to $30 depending on subject, materials and size.  Some sketches will be small and quick and be excellently priced at only $5 and will be first come, first served.

I expect to have somewhere in the range of 80 to 85 sketches at the show, so stop by my table... as soon as I have the location I will let you all know... and say "hi".

June 19, 2012... crap, it's been a while

dang, it's been a while.

So, my good friend Dave gave me a copy of Manga Studio and I have wanted soooo back to try to use it to work on Cornerstone.

The idea is if it "speeds" up the process at all, then it could be very good for me.

I have been playing with it over the last few days and watching the tutorials on line.  I still don't know exactly what I am doing but I am having a blast.

I am working on page one of the new Cornerstone book and doing it completely digital... whoooo hoo.

check it out as it comes along.

Hope she likes it.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... Turtles in a half shell... Turtle Power!

I've always wanted to draw the boys and with this weeks subject over at Illustrious Bits... any character from TMNT... I took the bait.

As you can see, i did NOT go with the standard turtles and did each one as a different species.  Cool, huh?

I still hate my scanner and hate how the white paper comes out sooooo grey.  The more I play with it in photoshop... the more the drawing gets blurred.  I have a lot to learn about playing with it... ughhhhh.

enjoy
